Piecing together your Future

Hey there! So, picture this: you're a parent of a high schooler, and you're feeling totally overwhelmed with all this talk about colleges and careers. Sound familiar? Well, you're not alone. I mean, seriously, who knew there were so many steps to this whole process?

So, let's break it down a bit. You might have heard some folks saying they're stuck in "analysis paralysis." That's just a fancy way of saying they're frozen because there's so much to think about! And when they try to get help from the school counselor, they're told to wait until junior year is over. But is that too late? Are they behind?

Here's the deal: High school counselors are awesome, but they're crazy busy trying to help everyone. So, where can you turn for help? When should you even start thinking about this stuff? And how do you keep calm when the stress kicks in?

Enter Mosaic Scholars! We're here to make things easier for you and your kid. Think of us as your college roadmap buddies, here to guide you through the whole journey. And guess what? We've got a bunch of cool tips and tricks to share with you along the way.

Okay, so let's talk about the beginning of this wild ride: When should you start getting ready, and is there such a thing as too late? Short answer: It's never too early to start dreaming and researching about college. Seriously, you could start as early as 8th grade when you're planning out your high school classes. That's the time to take cool stuff that might help you figure out what you're into (like, maybe try an animation class if you're curious about art).

But hold up, what if you're even younger than 8th grade? When do you start talking to your kid about college and careers? Well, the sooner, the better! Start dreaming big with them when they're little. Share your own stories too, even if they're kinda funny (like my dream of studying marine biology despite hating seafood!).

Now, what if your kid's a sophomore or junior? Are you too late to the party? Heck no! It's never too late to start dreaming about the future and helping your kid find their path, whether it's college or something else. At the end of the day, it's all about telling their story. And remember, there's a place for everyone out there. We're all different and awesome in our own ways, and this journey? It's just getting started, my friend. So buckle up and enjoy the ride!
